“I didn’t just give him a plate, I sat down next to Him.”
Every Wednesday and on the Second Saturday of every month, we invite volunteers to join us in sharing a warm, home-cooked meal with our friends on the street. Consider donating food and/or joining us at the park to encounter the poor!
What to Expect
Volunteer training for first-time volunteers is required. We will equip you with tools for engaging our homeless friends as well as inform you on ‘what not to do’.
We serve lunch for 300+ people, including nearly 75 volunteers
All food is provided through donations from our generous volunteers. See sign up below.
You will be assigned to a station (food line, prayer table, etc.).
We encourage all volunteers to sit down and talk with the men and women experiencing homelessness.
“As Christians, we are called to not just serve the poor, but to encounter the poor. I know I need to make time for this in my own life, and I want that for my kids. Christ in the City has made it possible!”
Dr. Edward Sri, Catholic Author & Professor
